Overview
Family: Carassius auratus
Fancy Goldfish are domesticated variants of wild carp, admired for their unique body shapes, flowing fins, & gentle personalities. Unlike common goldfish, fancies thrive in well-filtered aquariums, rather than ponds, with warmer temperatures & plenty of swimming space. They are social fish that do well in groups, but their delicate fins require a calm environment free of sharp décor & aggressive tank mates. Fancy Goldfish are messy eaters, so strong filtration & regular maintenance are key to keeping their water clean & healthy.
